Coffee and Conversation : Several dozen women gathered at the Rumson home of Family & Children's Service Board member Susan Sorokolit on Monday, April 11, for coffee and conversation. The women were guests of Susan and fellow FCS supporter Patty DeFabio, who are serving as co-chairs of FCS's 2011 Fall Gala, "Under a Tuscan Mooon," set for Saturday, October 29 at Deal Country Club. FCS President & CEO Vincent D'Elia and Board President Dolores Klein were also on hand to give guests a brief outline of the agency's century-old history and its dozen outreach programs in operation today.

FCS 2011 Prom Boutique : The 2011 FCS Prom Boutique served countless area teens, thanks in large part to the hundreds of dresses and accessories collected from local families and businesses. More than 400 dresses were donated to the annual event, which took place April 2 - 9 at the agency's Thrift Boutique in Long Branch. During the event, shoppers could purchase a dress for just $15, or a dress, shoes and a bag for just $20.

2011 Day at the Races : Longtime FCS board member Arlene Lospinosa sponsored a "Day at the Races" at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport on Sunday, July 24th, to raise money for critical FCS programs and services. More than 90 FCS supporters, family and friends were on hand to watch the thoroughbred horse races from the comfort of the air-conditioned Turf Room parterre box overlooking the finish line. Since a portion of every ticket sold went to FCS, the entire community came away a winner!

Picture Time : On Monday, August 8, members of the 2011 FCS Gala committee and invited guests gathered at the home of Gala committee member Sarah Andreski to preview the work of local portrait photographer Mac Hartshorn. Mac has generously agreed to provide free mini portrait sittings to any family who takes out a full page ad in our 2011 Gala Journal. This year's Gala, “Under A Tuscan Moon,” will be held Saturday, October 29 at Deal Golf & Country Club. The evening will include a delicious Tuscan-style sit-down dinner, silent auction, raffle and dancing to the music of the band Paris. 2013 Gala Committee kick off : The Chairs of Family & Children's Service's 2013 Gala Committee hosted a special brunch on Monday, April 8, at Navesink County Club to welcome Gala volunteers and introduce the individual committee chairs. The 2013 Gala, "An Evening of Southern Elegance" will take place Saturday, October 5 at the Navesink Country Club. All money raised will support FCS whose mission is to help people at vulnerable times in their lives through education, intervention, care and counseling.
